§ 8. Arrangement of streets in new subdivisions.

Latest version.
  • Be it further ordained, etc., that the arrangement of streets in new subdivisions shall conform to the major street plan and shall provide for the continuation of existing streets in adjoining subdivisions (or other property projections where adjoining property is not subdivided) insofar as they may be necessary for public requirements.

The right-of-way width of such streets in new subdivisions shall not be less than the minimum width herein established. The street and alley arrangement shall be such as to cause no undue hardship to owners of adjoining property.

Whenever there exists a dedicated or platted half street or alley adjacent to the tract to be subdivided, the other half of the street or alley shall be dedicated. All streets approximately in alignment with existing streets shall bear the names of the existing streets. All other streets shall be assigned names which do not conflict with names of existing streets.
